    Itinerary

    Rome

Rome is an historic city and capital of Italy, located in the region of Lazio. Rome is ubicated in the central portion of the Italian peninsula, on the Tevere River about 24 km inland from the Tyrrhenian sea where basically you find beaches near rome. Once the capital of an ancient republic and empire whose armies and politics defined the Western world in antiquity and left seemingly indelible imprints thereafter, the spiritual and physical seat of the Roman Catholic Church, and the site of major pinnacles of artistic and intellectual achievement, Rome is the Eternal City, remaining today a political capital, a religious centre, and a memorial to the creative imagination of the past.

Rome homes some of the most important monuments of the world, such as the Colosseum, even known as THE main monument in Rome, the one everyone visits and the most evocative of the city, built during the last decades of the I century AD and inaugurated by Emperor Titus in 80 AD, it is the biggest Roman amphitheater anywhere in the world and it has worked for centuries as a theater and stadium, hosting gladiator games, hunts and theatrical representations. Its location is also very close to two other points of interest of this amazing city that are also woth visiting, the Roman Forum and the “Altare della Patria”.

Another place that deserves to be visited is the world famous Trevi Fountain, one of the most beautiful fountains in Rome and the most famous. Built in the XVIII century following a design of architect Nicola Salvi, it is located in a small and otherwise understated small square in Rome city center (Piazza di Trevi) and it an imposing, impressive sight. At walking distance from the Trevi Fountai you can find the stunning Spanish Steps, a monumental staircase of 136 steps that connects Piazza di Spagna with Trinita’ dei Monti, the double towered church on the hill above it. The monumental staircase was built in 1723-1725 and is stunning and unique especially in spring, when it usually gets decorated with blooming flowers.

Of course these are just some of the many beauties of this amazing city, which we guarantee will be engraved in your hearts and minds for years to come.
